Dear Brides,

Almost exactly one year ago I had the pleasure of working with Gentry during one of the most hectic times of my life. Getting married can be and usually is one of the most stressful times in a young couple’s life, especially for the bride. Like most of you, I had a million ideas and no solid starting place. Gentry was recommended to me by a colleague and friend at work. Immediately after talking to Gentry I knew I could trust her expertise and sense of style to guide me toward the right decisions. Just to make sure I was not being hasty, I even checked out other photographers, but I never felt that instant safeness that I felt when talking with Gentry. One of the most important aspects of planning a wedding is feeling comfortable and trusting toward those that are involved in making your day as special as you and your groom are. 

My husband and I did not have the traditional large wedding so our needs were small. We knew we wanted to have beautiful pictures to commemorate the occasion and we wanted professional quality. After talking to Gentry and sharing various e-mails she was able to get a feel for exactly what we needed and created a unique package that we were thrilled with having. Immediately we had a contract and I was instantly relieved knowing that we had a photographer that shared our vision and dreams of capturing our perfect wedding day. Now all that was left were the million other details.

When our wedding day finally arrived I was your typical nervous bride. I was nervous about the food we were serving, the cake and even the flowers, but I never once gave my photographer a second thought. When going over my checklist for probably the 100th time I always skipped over Gentry’s name because I knew she would be there. The cake arrived, the food was being prepared, my wedding party looked stunning (or so I heard), the flowers were late (they made it just in time) but Gentry was early. She immediately came into the bridal suite and started taking pictures. She was a calming influence which was exactly what I needed. She knew exactly which pictures we wanted and had a plan in her mind that insured we would not miss any of them. I never once had to question when we were going to take a certain pose or remind her not to miss an important shot. She even anticipated moments that I would want captured I had not even thought of when we originally discussed pictures.

During the wedding I never once felt intruded upon by Gentry. She was able to capture key moments and not disturb the ambiance. After the wedding, we had very few pictures left to take – only the one’s that had my husband and me together in them and then the combination of our families. She knew that there would be no way my husband and I could pose for pictures for very long – we were still in that “I just need to look at you” phase. When we returned from our honeymoon Gentry had our pictures ready for us to see. We were absolutely thrilled! Each picture is as spectacular as the next. I find so much pleasure in knowing that I have the perfect picture collection that captured each wonderful moment of our wedding day. Not only was Gentry able to reassure me, the nervous bride and anticipate my photography needs, she also left us with beautiful memories that will last through the ages.
